APPROVED HOLIDAYS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008

In accordance with Article I, Section 2-1/9b of the City’s Code of Ordinance, during the regular commission meeting of October 3rd, 2007 City Commissioners approved notification of the below noted holidays for calendar year 2008.

1. New Year’s Day - January 1st (Tuesday)
Observed Tuesday – January 1, 2008

2. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday - 3rd Monday in January
Observed Monday - January 21, 2008

3. President’s Day – 3rd Monday in February
Observed Monday - February 18, 2008

4. Memorial Day - last Monday in May
Observed Monday - May 26, 2008

5. Independence Day - July 4th – (Friday)

6. Labor Day - 1st Monday in September
Observed Monday - September 1, 2008

7. Veterans Day - November 11th (Tuesday)
Observed  Tuesday- November 11, 2008

8. Thanksgiving Day - 4th Thursday in November
Observed Thursday - November 27, 2008

9. Christmas Day – December 25th (Thursday)

In addition to the Holidays listed in the Ordinance, City Commissioners designated the below listed days as legal holidays for calendar year 2008.

10. Floating Holiday – Friday, November 28, 2008 as Thanksgiving holiday continuance.

11. Floating Holiday – Wednesday, December 26, 2007 as Christmas holiday continuance

Note: In accordance with ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL Sec.2-1 Legal Holidays; City will close for business during the above approved holiday dates.
